About Jane Cameron Architects

We are a Melbourne-based architectural practice specialising in bespoke, high-performance homes — with particular expertise in heritage renovations, Passivhaus design, and deep energy retrofits across Melbourne and regional Victoria. Our work unites heritage continuity with contemporary building science to create comfortable, healthy, low-energy homes designed for long-term liveability. A defining part of our approach is the Master Plan Session — an intensive, one-on-one strategic consultation offered at the outset of a project. This structured session provides early clarity around site potential, heritage and planning constraints, budget alignment, and scope. Clients gain a clear understanding of what is possible and a confident pathway forward. We are a client-focused practice, working closely with you to understand your brief, lifestyle, and aspirations. Each project evolves through a rigorous, collaborative design process, resulting in a carefully considered architectural response shaped by both client and site constraints. The practice is led by a registered architect committed to professional leadership, education, and performance-driven design. I am a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects, a former board member of the Architects Registration Board of Victoria, and a former examiner for the Architectural Practice Examination. I currently tutor and mentor graduates working toward registration. I am also a Passivhaus Designer and a member of both the Australian Passivhaus Association and the International Passive House Association.
