Discounted Patios

To cut costs, ours was largely a DIY project with Discounted Patios contracted to erect the modern looking 24 sq metre Colorbond posts/beams/roofing structure, replacing our old timber pergola, which we pulled down. Initially, Discounted Patios provided a same-day quote with Gary most helpful in suggesting overall verandah design options and nailing down a draft plan, including profile and colours, and providing a competitive all-up price (the fourth quote received from competitors). Michael, Discounted Patios director, came to discuss with us the project in more detail and measured up the final design plan. From thereon, the company provided information of the ‘next steps’ stages of our project and took the hassle out of taking the architectural plan and building permit application (via an independent building surveyor) through local council. Marie, Discounted Patios permits manager, would regularly give us progress updates by email, such as materials scheduling, expected delivery, and job start date – all awhile keeping us ‘in the loop’, without us stressing and guessing about what stage the builder was at with our project (we were also mindful of the high number of builders going into liquidation at this time). Discounted Patios were professional and true to their word and provided quality workmanship by Ivan and his offsider over two days, including the guttering and plumbing connections into a storm water drain and rainwater tank. From the signing of the contract to final inspection and issue of ‘Certificate of Final Inspection’ by an independent building inspector, it took Discounted Patios just over six weeks to complete the steel verandah structure; much quicker than quoted by the other three contractors. A friend and I did the rest to complete the verandah, with concreting and extending an existing floor with extra slate tiles, adding an aluminum slat panel feature wall at one end (to hide the rainwater tank), a local specialist installed the twin automated outdoor mesh blinds, and an electrician put in extra lighting to complete the job. Overall, our DIY project took four months to complete. We are happy and proud of our new verandah. We have upgraded our outdoor living lifestyle and improved the value of our home in which Discounted Patios were a significant team player.

We wanted an outdoor area built at our property, one Sunday night we come across Discounted Patios website and decided to give them an email exactly what we wanted, within an hour we had a quote and a basic drawing. We wanted to make it cheaper due to having a budget and they gave us options and alterations we could make to get the price down. We are very happy with the finished product; it is a huge improvement in the look and far more streamlined than the timber carport we had before. The team at discounted patios handled all aspects of the job professionally, including permissions with the council. We did have one small misunderstanding, but this was resolved, and the lesson learned was to ensure everything is clearly spelled out in the contract.
