Not sure what more you can ask for but we were so grateful Peter was available to come less than 24 hours after calling Our washing machine wasn’t working and with a young family we need it! Peter had it working again in no time and gave us some troubleshooting steps if anything happens in future I’d definitely recommend and will call again if any other appliance has an issue
The person on the phone was polite and helpful and collected very detailed information (the exact model of the dishwasher, description of the problem) from me. It was clearly a problem with the water inlet valve and I was given impression that it's likely the repairman may fix the problem on the spot. However, $150+ later, the guy who came just fiddled with his phone, asked the same questions, and gave impression that he was unaware of details I gave previously on the phone when I was booking the job. Then, a few days later, a quote came to complete the job: $650+ !! Of that, $99 was for the labour and the rest $550, was for the replacement part. Together with initial $150+, it was $800+ total, roughly HALF the cost of the brand new dishwasher. I was VERY disappointed, because I feel I should've been given a warning that a potential cost of repair was of that magnitude, considering that the nature of the problem and very likely cause was known in advance. I feel I was taken advantage of. Instead of going with the quote, I somehow found service contact details for Smeg, the manufacturer of the appliance. The call out fee was $125 (compared to $150), after describing the problem, the repairman came with the part and fixed it all on the spot. I paid extra $30 for the labour (he stayed about 1/2 hour) and the replacement part, the inlet valve, was $240, less than HALF of what Master appliance was quoting me. If I learned anything from this, that is to ask for the total cost estimate BEFORE even the first visit. I guess very few problems are so convoluted that they may have ZERO idea of what it may be. For anything else, if you can't get the estimate, don't even go with it.
My Fisher and Paykel Fridge stopped working. I immediately looked for a servicing company and after seeing the good reviews I booked for a service on 17th June 2023 early morning 7 am. It was a Saturday. I got a automated reply over email where in it was mentioned that some one will contact me. I waited till Monday morning ie 19th June and I didn’t get a response. In the meantime somebody suggested me to try Sydney Appliances Repair Pty Ltd. Immediately I got a response from the service engineer and he told me that he can visit in the afternoon. The guy came and repaired it in just 30 mins. Finally in the evening I received a sms from Master Appliance Service (seems like they were having a long weekend) that the technician will be visiting on Tuesday 20th June ie 3 days after lodging a complaint. What a quick response!!! So friends please don’t get carried away by these reviews. I hope my review gets posted .
I unfortunately used them once in the past. After giving them the model number and the exact parts that needed replacing (and we knew exactly which parts, as we'd replaced them ourselves before), Master Appliances assured us they would come with parts and fix it, with a fair and understandable quote range that I was comfortable with. Then.... On the day the repairman came with no parts, and spent less than ten minutes taking the details that WE HAD ALREADY GIVEN THEM, and wanting to charge us $190 or so for the visit. Outrageous. They lied to us about the service they would provide, and then tried to extort money from us. They deserve to be reported to Fair Trading. I too wish I'd checked Google before calling them. Peter was great. Good communication prior to appointment. Showed up on time and was able to trouble shoot the issue within a minute. Highly recommended
Peter came to look at our fridge which had a broken hose to the in-built water dispenser in the door. Another company had already looked at it and told us it couldn’t be fixed. But in less than a minute Peter had the solution - and the part - to repair it. He conducted the repairs with ease and now the water and ice maker are working perfectly again. It is an old fridge so we weren’t sure it could be fixed but thanks to Peter’s expertise we have been saved the expense of buying a new one. Highly recommend the service!
