What customers say about The Moving Man
Highlights
"Quote was accurate. The two movers were careful with our belongings. They managed difficult objects up the stairs and worked hard the whole time they were there. They also were able to help us move with only 2 weeks notice."
"The Moving Man did a great job and truly exceeded my expectations. They got back to me quickly with a quote and very transparent prices and were able to fit in my move at relatively short notice at (what I am sure must be) a busy time of year. Byron & Rhys were friendly and respectful - I really felt like they cared about making sure our belongings were loaded and unloaded without damage and they went above and beyond. They were prompt to start the job on time, communicated well to ensure things were put where I wanted them, and worked efficiently… in fact they were so efficient that the job ended up costing a few hundred dollars less than I was originally estimated! I am so impressed and highly recommend The Moving Man for moves in and around the Perth area."
"I had moved house 33 times in 33 years before I hired The Moving Man to do my 34th - and final - house move in December 2021. To say they had alot to live up to is an understatement. I've seen it all and had it all, over four continents - the good, average, thoroughly bad, and absolutely woeful. Having read the reviews, I felt confident it would be a good move. And it was, in the end. But it was a stressful day that did not need to be - and it had nothing to do with the guys that did the move, or me. It's just how moving goes sometimes. The job involved Day One of packing up one very large (large!) truck in Perth metro with 4 storage units of goods and furniture, overnighting it at the depot, and then Day 2 driving the truck to regional WA to offload and unpack, before the truck drove back (empty) to Perth. Day 1 didn't start well, with an estimated start time blowing out by 2.5 hours, meaning there was only 2.5 hours left in the day to do an entire pack up into a truck of 4 large storage units before the storage facility closed. The guys turned up late and looked as deflated as me - they had come from a morning move where the clients had underestimated the size and amount (to save money), meaning the job ended up being way bigger than quoted, and being the good people they are, the guys didn't leave until it was done. That then had a ripple effect on the next job - me - leaving us all with half the quoted time to get the job done. If you've done as many moves as I have, you will know that rushing a pack and load is a disaster. The goods end up broken on the other end, which defeats the whole purpose. Insurance just doesn't cover the blood, sweat, tears and stress. I had booked the required time and Karyn has allocated the required time, but as it turned out, the job before me screwed all that up. Thanks alot! When the guys finally arrived at the storage facility we had a 10 minute chat. How was this going to get done without anything being broken? How were we going to get this packed without rushing? Who is going to pay any overtime fees at the storage facility if they had to stay open late (not me, that's for sure). Etc. Etc. Etc. The guys reassured me they would be as careful as if it were their own stuff. No rushing. And they would get it done AND pay any overtime fees if needed. So we got to work. And work they did. It was a very hot day. We had to go between four different storage units. We had to pack fragile and large bulky items, heavy items, small items, lots of tubs, and wall art. Rugs, lamps and shades. And so on. The load was PERFECT. The guy in the truck was very experienced and had clearly done it before - nothing was squashed, nothing was damaged far as I could see. The last item went into the truck on Day 1 at exactly closing time - no overtime fees or charges, and everyone was happy with the load. We were happy too. The mood was actually pretty good, considering the shitstorm we had started with. Day 2 - the truck drove to regional WA as scheduled and on time. Arrived exactly on time. We unpacked from the truck all day, and the guys unpacked boxes in the house, placed furniture in rooms, and even assembled a couple of pieces for me. All in all, it was an EXCELLENT move. NOTHING - not ONE THING - was broken. How's that? I don't think any of the prior 33 moves achieved that status, so kudos to the guys, their attitude, their work ethic, and their willingness to get the job done properly. That truly does not happen often. I can't say it is the BEST move of all time for me, but it's definitely in my TOP THREE. Having moved across the USA, Australia, China and Singapore, I can honestly say that The Moving Man has something special. They don't always get it right and stuff does happen - but they make it right to make the move happen. Money can't buy that. I'm not moving again (!) but you are, and I can honestly say - give these guys a try. If you treat them like human beings with respect and dignity, they give it all back to you and more. Thank you Byron and team for a great move. I appreciate it."
Detailed reviews
I obtained a quote online for a 4 x2 move 10-15kms away from my current address. I did my homework and looked at reviews and was happy to pay the highest quote because of the excellent reviews. However I have never ever been mistreated the way I was today by this company. Stay clear is my advice unless you like them turning up and hour and a half early, rude attitudes, like it was my fault I wasn't quite ready for them and then declaring that because I had animals they did not want to do the job as they didn't want to get sick from my animals and that I would need to find another company to do the job. This on the day of my move! I had rabbits and dogs to move but the small hypoallergenic dogs I have were outside and the rabbits were isolated in a bedroom which the movers didn't have to enter. After I finished packing the last few boxes I was about to transport my animals to the new house and be back in time for the movers but they didn't care and just left. I was dumbfounded. My cleaner had just arrived and witnessed the whole thing. She too could not believe what she was hearing. The two removalist a also claimed they were not told I would need a bed dismantled or the size of the move. They told me they didn't get a brief from their manager. when I spoke to the manager who had confirmed the quote and moving details he said they do get a brief. He knew of what had occurred before I contacted him and he has zero empathy or care for the predicament I was now in. I offered for him to attend my premises and check it out for himself. He said he would speak to the guys again and get back to me. In the meantime I got on to other companies to check their availability. Then the manager rang me back and said he has arranged two of his other drivers to come around the same time as the original booking with a 9 tonne truck. Big enough to handle the size of my move. However when the new removalist turned up they had a 3 tonne truck. The guys were from a different company and I was confused about why they had come as I didn't realise the manager had contacted another company to attend. A heads up would have been helpful. The new guys were nice but I turned them away as it would have taken 6 trips to get the job done. No way. Long story short I was very disappointed with this company and would advise anyone else to be aware of my experience and consider if this is something you want to experience.

The Moving Man came highly recommended so we decided to give them a go. We have moved 8 times in 12 years so fairly used to it. We moved within the same suburb on a very hot day. It felt like the two guys weren’t too thrilled about it either and don’t think they’d want to move our heavy furniture again given the opportunity. Lots of the reviews have said how friendly the staff are, also neither introduced themselves to me or my husband. They just got to it. Anyway they got most of our stuff moved (left a few things we asked them to move) in about 5 hours. It was our most expensive move to date, also due to the extra heavy items we own and they charge for. For the reasons above, I’d look around next time.

I can’t thank the Moving Man enough, you made my city to country move effortless from the first contact to quote. Terry and his offsiders were efficient and just lovely blokes! If I move again, I’ll definately be using you again.
The Moving Man helped with the move from my 2 bedroom apartment. Byron and Rhys were friendly, helpful and easily managed all the hard to move stuff. Would totally use them again. Thank you guys
We moved from a 4x2 to a 3x2. It’s was a 40 degree day and the guys worked so carefully, tirelessly and with a friendly helpful disposition. We would not hesitate in recommending them to our friends. Happy birthday Reece
