Got caught with a pinhole leak that when I realised what it was became urgent as it had been leaking for around two months. Useless meter didn't show any usage after taking readings two hours apart. Found the leak but I am 69 with a bad injury so called a plumber and got these clowns. Severe pain, meds not working any by myself they wanted $79 callout fee before even looking at the job, then after borrowing my tools (Ozito flood light and rotary hammer drill) looked at the job. ("Professional plumber carried his tools in a clear PLASTIC bag...I would have twigged if the meds were working) Quoted $6,138 which I refused. I thought from previous quotes for other items I wanted done it would be around $1,500 to $2,000 so I said NO and then the hard sell was applied. I was in pain, meds still weren't working and I folded and agreed to $4,300 but it was 10% before starting and he still borrowed my tools. Took THREE hours (after sitting in the driveway for 50 minutes) to remove 11 bricks and replace an 11 inch length of ½" copper pipe and a cheap tap (pressure fitted) and then I later found when putting the bricks back he cocked that up. One brick sticks out because the pipe didn't have a tight enough bend and I didn't want the copper pipe to be touching the brick and failing again. Took me less time to put the bricks back than it took to smash them out and I have never done brick work before. Really only needed 3 bricks removed to get to the leak. NO written quote or proof of work. "Office will send that out" and of course they didn't. All I have are the receipts from his EFTPOS machine with company name on it. The images were after I cleaned out the broken bricks and mortar that he left behind. Should have taken a photo of that. Used hand tools to avoid damaging the pipe after I saw what he had done in the bottom right corner of the DAMAGED pipe. Copper no longer shiney due to three months it took me to recover enough to brick up the hole. 10% Deposit $428.79 paid at time 15:37 Competed Payment $3,796.86 paid at time 18:40 I wish I could leave a ZERO STAR on this review!

I was quoted $1452 to investigate a leak in the shower that took 30 minutes. I ended up paying $1852 after paying for the call out fee+gst, deposit+gst completed work+gst. After reseraching a simple job like that should only have cost $600. Beware of the scam!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience needs to be a warning for anyone considering using this company. I had an issue with a toilet valve that wasn’t working properly and kept the water running. I called Dan’s Plumbing and asked for a quote. They told me they needed to inspect it first and confirmed the $0 call‑out fee. From the moment the plumber arrived, he was unfriendly. He didn’t touch anything—just looked at the toilet—and immediately presented three quotes ranging from “basic” to “best,” with the “best” being a full toilet replacement. The basic quote was $1,800, which I rejected straight away because it was clearly just a valve replacement. He insisted no plumber in Brisbane would do it for less and that it “needed” to be done. After I refused again, he called his supervisor—visibly frustrated—and suddenly the price dropped to $900. I still said no. Then came the pressure tactics. He tried to bully me into paying a call‑out fee, claiming it was in the terms and conditions. I had already read them, and there is nothing about this. He even played back my original call, trying to argue that the fee would only be waived if I went ahead with the job, which was not what I was told. After more back‑and‑forth, another call to his boss, and increasingly rude behaviour, I stood my ground and refused to pay. I knew I was in the right. Reading other reviews afterwards, it’s clear this is a pattern. These guys are a scam. They rely on pressure, misinformation, and intimidation. I got the job done properly by another plumber for $250. Be aware, ask questions upfront, and do NOT let them bully you into paying anything. Stay away from this company.

During the call has been told that "There is NO call out fee, we waive it if you proceed with our service. The quote is free on site". Their contractor came in, I walked him around my house to show the problem for 15 mins. After he proposed a "complimentary CCTV check", which was also 10-15 mins. Then he came to me with ~$900 invoice for today. He then said that he CAN give me two quotes, one for digging 5 meter long trench to replace the pipe ($12k) and another for the leak detector that suppose to use Nitrogen to find the leak. Then he called his "supervisor" (even tho nobody asked him) and this dude tried to pressure me to accept the quotes from them for everything. We said no, we need to get other quotes to compare. None of the quotes were sent later to me, I had to call 5 times to get one of them, which had a different price again and a different scope of work to what was discussed. $900 for 15 mins on site without even touching anything dirty and "Complimentary CCTV". What are you a prime minister? I understand that Dan's Plumbing is just calling other plumbers in the area. So I called them to complain about my experience. And response was "I can connect you to the contractor and you can talk to them". What kind of service is that? You hired that contractor so you should deal with them. Stay away, typical money grab company who doesn't care about customers and hire cowboys that over charge you

I am very disappointed with this company service. I called to replace my LPG gas regulator and was quoted $2,125 it was way to expensive Because I didn’t go ahead, I had to pay a $126 dollors call-out fee even advertised as 0 call out fee. When the technician arrived, he only told me what I already knew—that the regulator was leaking. I found that other companies charge $350–$400 for the same work. This feels like a way to overcharge customers. Charging such a high amount and then a call-out fee if I don’t proceed is unfair and unacceptable.

Rip off!! Beware!, wanted 900$ for a 150$ job that another licensed plumber did for 150$ in 15min. Dont bother with these guys. They will charge you 130$ just for him to come all the way to the house and give you a ridiculous quote. I showed him a video of the issue and he didnt bother to inspect anything.

My 18 month old hot water tank was leaking from the copper pipe. I called Dan's. They sent someone. The quote was for $900, the new hot water tank only cost $1200. I didn't want to proceed but then they informed me that I would need to pay the call out fee. So I agreed for them to go ahead, I really think the price was ridiculous and I feel completely ripped off. I encourage people to search for a different company to help you out.

Had to pay $710 for a "Search and Investigate" of a hot water system we knew needed replacing, then quoted $6500 to actually replace it! They also quoted $8000 to fix a toilet button that wasn't working properly. I questioned the price but the team tried to bully me in to accepting the quote, telling me it would take multiple people several hours etc, that they were on site and I was better off just accepting than seeking another opinion. Pretty unpleasant experience. I tried to call Dan's Plumbing to talk through my issue but they told me they had nothing to do with the third party contractor that came to do the job, a company called Brofessionals. Found someone local to do the job. They came and had it done in 45 minutes for $1900 and were horrified by the original quotes I received. Shame on Dan's Plumbing/ Brofessionals!
