This company everything I ring they put me on hold, it's been quite difficult to resolve my deposit refund as, I've given them 2 account numbers and their trying to tell me that they are invalid, which is not true. Now this situation I've had with them has gone on for nearly 2 months, that they're not giving me my deposit refund for $300.00. I've given them an account number with a bsb number and they still try to say that it's invalid. Which my bank accounts that I've given them are valid and uoto date. At this stage I've been trying to get my deposit refund for nearly 2 months. Now because they're not resolving this issue, I'm now having my daughter have to ring Jade up in the customer care team to attempt to resolve this issue using one of her accounts as she's more savvy with online banking.. Now this has caused me a considerable amount of stress and I've had to suffer in the heat during this time frame because they still have not attempted to go out of their way to make sure I get my money back. On the 10th of December when James came to my house he shouldn't have takemy money for a deposit as he took advantage of me and the situation and since then I've not had my deposit refund to me...
As a pensioner I felt comfortable with the tradies in my house. I rang Same Day Trades for issues with our external hot water service. Tradesmen arrived within the quoted timeframe & were polite & friendly. Both were professional and knew their stuff . There was no nonsense like "it could be this... or it could be that !". They simply took time to assess / diagnose then explained some options to me. They wrote up a quote and I still had the option to proceed or not. No pressure. I was won over by the time they took to explain it all to me. I recommend to anyone, - particularly Pensioners or mums at home who want to feel 'comfortable' in their home. Absolute rip off. Very small call out fee, but if you want them to do anything they charge outrageous amounts. I got changed over $800 to do a drain clean. Once the plumber is there, what are you going to do, send them away? It wouldn't be so bad if they actually cleared the blockage, but they didn't do that either! The camera showed tree roots so they say to fix it I needed to get my paths dug up and pipes replaced at a cost of $10k. I told them I needed to think about it. I got some tools from Bunnings and fixed the blockage myself without digging anything up. I couldn't be more disgusted with that company. That is $800 I can I'll afford that I paid them for nothing!
In August I needed some circular fluorescent light fittings upgraded to LED as one of the fittings had failed, I called a few local electricians but none were available for several weeks, in desperation, I made the mistake of calling Same Day Trades, who had done a letterbox drop of fridge magnets. When I call an electrician, I expect an electrician to turn up, but instead, they sent a fast talking sales rep, who, through scare tactics etc. convinced me that the main power board needed upgrading, I agreed to this work, which, in hindsight was a mistake, but high pressure sales when I was in a vulnerable position needing the lights fixed and unable to find anyone else to do it led to this decision. I believe I was significantly overcharged for the work that was done, but that’s not the main issue. Everything appeared to be working correctly, apart from a faulty breaker for an air conditioner, they came and replaced the breaker. A few months later, we had a significant storm, where many households, including ours, experienced power failure. We have a 6.5KW solar PV system with a 3 phase Fronius inverter and a Tesla Powerwall 2 + gateway. System was installed in 2019 and had been working perfectly before the switchboard upgrade. When we lost power from the grid, I expected the Powerwall to take over the protected circuits as it had always done in the past, however this did not happen and I also lost communication with the Powerwall/Gateway using the Tesla app. When grid power is present, the app works as normal. During a subsequent grid outage, the same issue occurred. I rang Same Day Trades and asked for someone to come out and rectify this, they booked a date, but then kept rescheduling, saying the electrician had a fall from a ladder, then he wasn't able to return to work yet etc. Apparently they must only have one electrician. In the end, I called a solar PV specialist to come and look at the issue, it turns out the electrician had made a mistake in the installation which caused the Powerwall to shut down when the grid power failed. So having paid Same Day Trades almost $5,000 (double what I believe it should have been), I am now out of pocket a further $900 to rectify a problem caused by them. I have no issue with the electrician who attended, I believe the error was due to a lack of knowledge of the Powerwall system, my 2 star review is due to the overcharging and poor customer service from the company itself.
