Smart House Solar

Completed job on time. Application process was easy. System works as advertised. Only issue i had were they were asking for the final payment prior to installation. I said not until the job is complete. Job is complete. Now to wait for next heavy rain and wind to see if they held up :).

Smart House Solar are no longer reliable and cannot be trusted! I signed a contract with them to supply and install a 15kw battery system and new Hybrid Inverter and paid IN FULL over 5 months ago (October 2024). Since then, all I have heard are lies, excuses and empty promises that the job will be "finalised NEXT WEEK"! I am still waiting for any actual progress! The chief sales rep failed to return phone calls or reply to emails and their Accounts department does not answer the phone. About 2 months ago I complaints with Qld Fair Trading and QCAT about a cancelling my contract and obtaining a full refund of my payment. I also posted a Negative Review on this site. This led to their installation manager contacting me in mid-January and promising to have the batteries installed on Monday 3rd February. However, they insisted that I remove my negative review from this site. Surprise, surprise, the Friday before (31st January) I received a message that said they would be unable to install the system on the Monday as promised. Of course, they “guaranteed” that it would definitely now be installed on Thursday 6th February. Late at night on Tuesday 4th another message. This time to cancel Thursday. What a shock! So, what date is promised next? “Guaranteed” it would happen in “the week after OR the next”! (Sounds like it is now definitely locked in! NOT!) There have been three more “guaranteed” dates since. But at least these times they provided the names of the actual installers, so I gave them more chances. (BIG MISTAKE) I am retired but occasionally get some contract work to help supplement my pension. I actually had to turn down 3 days work so that I could be home for the installation. GUESS WHAT? Nobody showed up on any of these days and when I rang the installers, they said something urgent had come up, BUT THEY HAD INFORMED Smart House Solar “Installation Team” the day before. OF COURSE NO-ONE HAD BOTHERED TO ADVISE ME, so I lost 3 days of income for nothing! In fact, two of the actual installers advised me that they would no longer be do work for Smart House Solar as they kept mucking them around too. They both advised me to get away from Smart House Solar ASAP. I advised Smart House Solar that I wanted to cancel my contract and receive an immediate and full refund, which I should have done months ago. However, that was over 3 weeks ago. Since then, they promised my refund was being "processed that week”, but then pleaded with me to let them go ahead with the installation. So what happened to their “processing” if they were still planning to install my batteries? When I refused their request and demanded they stop delaying and refund me immediately, they assured me I would have it by the end of last week. This week, STILL NO REFUND but they “Guarantee” that it will be by the end of this week! (Where have I heard that before?) I have now sought legal advice and about to implement legal action to try to recover my money including my costs and lost income. So, BE WARNED! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY WITH SMART HOUSE SOLAR. Go elsewhere!

From onboarding through to the installation of the solar system at my home was effortless. Frank and Garry were always helpful with every query I had and provided clear communication at each stage.

Gary and Frank were very helpful throughout. Had a bit of issue for the installation date but they were understanding and sorted it out straight away. The installation took only few hours and we are happy with it.

I am really happy with the after sales service of the company. The inverter had some issue that were addressed. Case officer always contacted me and updated about the progress of the work.
