BG Fencing

Unfortunately, I have had to learn the hard way that it's very difficult to find trustworthy services in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, and once again I have been very disappointed this time with a Fencing company, I thought I had given very careful consideration out of three quotes, even eliminating one because of negative reviews, and I decided to go with the one who said all the right things, the owner of this business told me ''We are a family business and my sons work with me, we do a good job and you will be happy with the result'', also he was very friendly which was reassuring and gave me a positive feeling that I had made the right decision to give him the job. After receiving the initial quote of $11,660.00 on 19/09/2018 and subsequently paying a deposit of $2,660.00 on 31/10/2018 their customer service from then on proved to be abysmal, a further payment was made to him of $3,500.00 on 11/12/2018 which was an extra payment for two side gates, this brought the cost to $15,160.00 plus an extra S500.00 cash for three gate locks from Bunnings which I later priced at $79.95 each so with installation should not have been much more than $300.00 not $500.00, (actually they wanted to charge me $600.00 complete rip-off, and I managed to haggle them down to $500.00) bringing the total cost of this job to $15,660.00 I mentioned to him when he was measuring up for the quote, that during my home renovation around $4,000.00 worth of my property was stolen through the garage ceiling manhole by the roof cavity cleaners that were sub-contracted by the builder, and after that pilfering continued by the building workers up until completion, and I told him that I had to call the police out twice to attend at my home to report the incidents, but the police could do nothing about it without fingerprints or CCTV, I realise now that was an error on my part, because that just made it worse and then it was carte blanche for the light-fingered to just help themselves to what they wanted from my home, and it happened again with BG Fencing, and the reason I know is because one item a brand new pair of motorcycle boots still in their box, after the $4,000.00 worth of property was stolen I moved them from inside the house to the garage, but as the manhole could no longer be accessed I thought the property in my garage would now be safe and secure, but the motorcycle boots together with a two-person inflatable Canoe, set of three Floating Shelves, two Security Door Locks, also three brand new Solar Fountain Water Pumps which I had only purchased at the end of October 2018 and one brand new set of Christmas Garden Lights, two sets of Butterfly Christmas lights which I had only purchased in December 2018, also, some things were moved around on the shelving, one item which I had on one shelf was moved to another, and I'm not sure if more was stolen I just haven't missed any other items yet, always you remember something you bought before then later realise that's also missing, I know this from past experience. The reasons for this negative review for B.G. Fencing are noted below: 1/ On the 05/02/2019 BG Fencing were at my home installing the fence and gates, and there were to my memory four or five people including the owner and his sons. 2/ In the afternoon I observed the owner and one of his sons Ray sitting on our outside three-seat sofa in front of the garage, while other workers were still installing the fence, I remember it clearly because his son Ray had his feet on our small table in front of the sofa which we use for drinks and food and I was not particularly happy that he had his feet on it, but I didn't say anything, I just thought that they are making themselves very comfortable on our sofa. 3/ Then the next time I went outside, they were still sitting on the sofa and the owner said words to the effect ''Can you pay me the balance of the money'', which was $9,000.00, I said ''Why are you in such a hurry I'm not going to run away'', I said ''You haven't finished yet'', but he kept on insisting that I do the Bank Transfer immediately as he was waiting for it, I said ''It doesn't have to be done right now'', but he kept insisting that he was waiting for me to do the Bank Transfer now, so I said ''OK I'll do it now'', and I went inside my home to do the transfer on my Desktop computer. 4/ Even more suspicious, after the time that it took me to make the Electronic Bank Transfer, I went back outside to tell them that the transfer had been completed successfully, but only after that payment was processed and they were checking on their mobile, did the owners son Ray say ''Oh by the way that section of fencing was measured up incorrectly'', only then did they tell me that they had made a measurement mistake on that part of the fence, and it couldn't be completed today, I said ''Why didn't you tell me that before as I wouldn't have made the full final payment until the fence was completed'', that was a very sneaky and deceitful attitude under the circumstances and then to pressure me into making the final payment is just completely immoral, and that is what I told Ray later that day when I rang them on the phone, and also in an email I sent them the next day on the 06/02/2019, I have copies of all my SMS messages and emails and their reply correspondence as evidence if I decide to take this matter further, they had been sitting on the sofa long enough, and I had seen that part of the fence laid on the ground on the neighbours side of the wall earlier in the afternoon, obviously because they knew it was the wrong size, but I just assumed that they were getting ready to secure it to the wall. 5/ It easy in hindsight to realise what was going on here, they had already seen what they wanted from my garage, as they were using the electric power from the garage for their tools, and as they had planned, all they needed to do was find a way to keep me occupied inside the house for a few minutes doing the Electronic Bank Transfer, then they could remove the items that they wanted from my garage without me seeing them. After that, I had to keep chasing the owner up to get the final section of the fence installed, first he said two weeks, then I sent him an SMS message on 12/02/2019 asking when the fence will be finished, maybe they were embarrassed to return hence the delays, they finally installed the last section of fence on 25/02/2019, not the same urgency to complete the job as it was for the owner to ask me for full payment immediately on the 05/02/2019, but after all that was just a ruse/deflection to keep me busy in the house while they removed the items they wanted from my garage without being seen. I had told the owner of this business before that if he did a good job I would write a positive review for him, but obviously, that was of no importance to him because he never asked about it afterward, anyone with integrity would appreciate a good review from their customer, to encourage new clients for them and more so with a family business, but I don't write good reviews when they're not warranted. This is just another example of dishonesty which seems to be endemic in the service industry, it's a shame that these dishonest workers give honest workers who do have integrity a bad name too, and after my experience with the home renovation and what has happened since I feel that I can never trust anyone again, and we still have an old downstairs kitchen, bathroom and hallway to renovate but I can't face any more workers in my home at this time, it's just been too stressful and caused too much unhappiness for my wife and myself. I have written this comprehensive and detailed review to assist anyone else who is contemplating having a fence and gates installed at their home, and wish to avoid the stress and the trouble that my wife and I have had to endure, choose the fencing company as carefully as you can, try to find other genuine reviews to make a choice, but I definitely don't recommend this fencing company! and that should save you a lot of unnecessary grief.

They have no idea or respect. Once they win the job and get a deposit they don't turn up on time, When they turn up they don't know how to do the job and when you complain they say that's how it gets done. They have no idea how steel/ aluminum or glass work gets done. If you have already hired them make sure that you supervise them minute by minute and ask them why they doing things the wrong way and stop them from continuing further otherwise it will be too late!

The team at BG Fencing especially Sam & Ray to mention, were indeed professional with every business step. The design and installation of the Hampton-style railing to a wrap-around verandah decking the workmanship was excellent with high quality materials used throughout. THe installation team was professional and completed the job promptly leaving the property spotless when work completed. Customer service top notch from start to end. Overall I highly recommend BG fencing for anyone looking for fencing installation services.

We dealt with Ray and Sam who were both very professional. They assisted us with the choice of pattern and colour and the end result was fabulous. They were also prompt with installation. Would highly recommend.

Ray and Sam were very professional. Although access was difficult nothing was too much trouble and my project was delivered on time and exactly to my specifications. I would highly recommend them as they gave me a fair price and delivered an excellent job.
