Highlights
"G'day, We have just completed our 12-month inspection/works post-construction, and I believe NOW is the right time to give feedback on our journey. Haha. Like all companies, a lot of the experience comes down to the people you deal with along the way, so I just wanted to mention some of the people who really impacted our journey and helped make the experience a positive one. PRE-CONSTRUCTION POSITIVES -Sales – Cheryl S. If it wasn’t for her, we would have never started this journey. Thank you very much for asking the right questions and getting us moving in the right direction. -Sales – Chris V. Very helpful with choosing designs, reading contracts, and picking structural upgrades. -MyChoice Studio – Mariah C. She has a tough job, helping us newbies pick absolutely everything for our 5-bedroom house in ONE day! Thanks for not making the day stressful and for helping us choose things that really make our house stand out. NEGATIVES -Because we were beginners, you just don’t know what can be done or improved in terms of layout changes. -Just because you paid for an upgrade, don’t expect it to always look as good as the display home. -We had 2–3 visits to MyChoice Studio before our selection day, and we still struggled. Also, what you pick is not always exactly what you get. MID-CONSTRUCTION POSITIVES Site Supervisor SS – Mike McQuoid - What a legend! A good SS can change your whole experience and Mike really, really looked after us. We had our fair share of issues (frames, roof, etc.), but he always kept us informed, conducted several site visits, and genuinely cared. If our house looks as good as it does, it’s because this guy did an amazing job. Cannot thank him enough. (Also, Jarred — thanks for helping when things got busy haha.) NEGATIVES -When you pick things during selections, you don’t always have the full picture of what implicates and how installation is done (e.g. gaps, trims, joints), and sometimes the final result is not exactly what you imagined. POST-CONSTRUCTION POSITIVES -Brighton Cares Team - Erin, Kayla and Peter and Wayne - Wow, really impressed here! I honestly thought that after handover, it was done and everything would be on us, but Brighton Care actually works. Kayla came for our 3-month inspection and fixed many things (not picked by our external handover inspection) -Now, dealing with Erin for our 12-month inspection (after the house has moved/settled),she has really helped us deal with external companies and making sure items were not forgotten. A Big thanks as well to Peter and Wayne, who went well above (literally) and beyond to fix walls, paint, and really all the external window frames (45’s!). **I really hope they’re still around to do our final 24-month inspection next year. =) NEGATIVES -Because some items are handled by external companies, sometimes you have to deal with multiple teams coming through to fix things. -The way we judge whether an item is fixed (ex. how a patch on the wall is painted) is not always the same standard they use. OVERALL Honestly, we would love to build again with Brighton (maybe the Lotus 38 this time). Brad and Brett, thanks for running a great company and helping first-timers like us achieve great results. We are super happy with both the experience and the final result. I hope the team gets to see this message and it also helps another first timer to understand the building process."
"I recently had my Electrical selection appointment with Laura at Loganholme and was extremely pleased with the level of support she provided. I truly appreciate her patience, expertise, guidance and the thoughtful design input she provided throughout the process. She helped elevate my ideas and suggested options that matched the performance while offering great value. I am very grateful to Laura for the wonderful work she did and the positive experience she provided."
"My site manager, Ben O’Shea has been the standout of my build process with Brighton. From day one of the build he has made me feel comfortable and confident in the process. Every little thing I raised or asked he happily took care of it. He caught things before they became an issue, had a great team of trades behind him and most of all kept open lines of communication with regular updates as well. I engaged an independent inspector for multiple stages who was constantly impressed with the build quality and actually mentioned that he would now be considering Brighton Homes for his personal house build and would specifically request Ben as the Site Manager. My project coordinator Amy Fox has also been fantastic in the lead up to construction start date. I hope Brighton has an internal recognition program and Ben and Amy both deserve to be recognised for their outstanding work on my build."

We chose Brighton because of the reviews but learnt can't trust what you read either. Communication to begin with was terrible, constant following up, constantly sending back plans to fix up mistakes made. Excuses were made that they didn't have enough workers when palmed off from person to person. So many misunderstandings. Then when we started to build it started of so great then went downhill from there. I guess it depends what area you are in also to what the trades are like but still you think they would make sure the jobs are done to a good standard. Their number one response to our questions why things weren't done properly was "that's how it's done". Quality of finishes are definitely not great. We had issues with the hot water system in the first couple of months shorting out with no hot water and the fastest they could come was 5 days so we got someone else in lucky we did because it was a shonky wiring job. Gas pipes were also not done properly and leaking. Many many issues with finishes. Regret paying extra to get drawers etc put in robes, terrible handles, they attempted to straighten them so they closed properly but still aren't great. Regret the extra for niche in shower everything falls off the shelf Regret the extra for the mirror sliding doors the paint and silicone finish was terrible A section of the plan was flipped but the doors on storage now no longer open all the way as they hit the bulkhead but they won't fix it because apparently the plan people don't check those things. We asked for small shelves to be put in a book and that was never done Towel rails were hung so the shower door smashes on them instead of moving them over 10cm Paid extra for a smooth transition between inside and the alfresco but far from the pictures we were shown what it would be like Only positive was the build was finished earlier but probably more of a negative because the rushing shows in the finishes Plaster was a positive and tiling is well done but not grout, silicone was terrible, architrave joins were all terrible. Insulation was missing in places, tiles had ground patches. It was stressful and Id never build again, don't choose Brighton unless you know trades are good in your area. Yes they came to attempt to fix things, but never got around to doing it all and the attempts to fix weren't much better. One chap that did come out and did a few repairs was probably the most valuable employee they had, he was well mannered did the job well and cleaned up after himself. Water pressure is bad when 2 showers are running even though all neighbours are fine, hot water takes forever to heat up when tap is turned on. We also paid extra for better carpet which was another regret, it's very noisy to walk on, wakes you up at night if walked on even by a cat

We are now in the scheduling phase of our build, and I had a great experience working with 'Natasha Cassidy' during the pre-build stage with Brighton Homes. She has been incredibly helpful throughout all our detailed discussions, always taking the time to explain things clearly and guide us through each step. Natasha is highly responsive and always reachable, whether by phone or email, which made the whole process much smoother and less stressful. What really stood out was her proactive approach — as we were running behind to reach the scheduling phase, she went above and beyond to help us meet the deadline. This was extremely important, as missing it could have resulted in a significant increase in our build cost. I would strongly recommend Natasha for her exceptional communication, dedication, and willingness to support her clients every step of the way. She truly made a positive difference in our building journey. Regards Sahil & Mansi
Lara Diggleman was an outstanding Project Coordinator at Brighton Homes and played a key role in helping us build our dream home. From the design phase through to the scheduling phase, Lara guided us through every step—coordinating drawings, selections, approvals, variations and construction timelines with clarity and efficiency. She ensured everything was organized well ahead of time, kept us informed at each milestone, and made the entire pre construction process smooth and stress free. Her attention to detail, proactive communication, and genuine commitment truly reflect the quality and professionalism of Brighton Homes. We are extremely grateful for her support throughout our journey.
I am at the end of the pre construction phase with Brighton Homes and so far I have been very happy with my experience with Brighton Homes. The staff have been very helpful and friendly. I particularly would like to mention my project coordinator Amy Fox who has worked very hard to attend to the issues that needed to be addressed with the submitting of my building plans to Logan Council. Amy was very clear in her communication with me, always very polite and helpful on the phone.
