It is two years since we had our old bathroom renovated. We received very good reports from friends as to the quality of Fred Rose's company's work. They are a local family company which gave us confidence. We had heard bad reports of unfinished work by so many unknown firms so wanted to make the right choice. From the moment we visited the showrooms we were impressed with the displays and the knowledge and assistance of the staff. As soon as I described what I wanted in order to match a federation style border tile we had selected, they soon brought out the cream wall tiles, and terra cotta colour floor tiles I had in mind, and matched them to the timber cabinet I wanted. The selections were all set up together so we could see how well they all matched our choice of border tile. They had obviously done this many times and were well versed in the procedure. The selections were exactly what we wanted. We matched them with a cream hand basin and toilet suite & cabinet top. As I have weak wrists we were able to select lever style taps for hand basin and shower along with a grip rail in the shower. The work was soon scheduled. They set up a programme of all the work, along with the times they would arrive every day. Our old bathroom had to be completely removed. Before the men started work they laid plastic over our hall carpet to protect it for the duration of work. Each day the scheduled workmen arrived exactly on time. Every day they cleaned up after themselves and removed all debris and rubbish. I had nothing to clean up myself. On 2 days in particular it was to be extremely hot and they arranged to come earlier in the morning to get the jobs for that day done before it got too hot. During the work a partner in the firm arrived regularly to make sure everything was done to his and our satisfaction. We are thrilled with the new bathroom and the high quality of the materials and the standard of the work. There are cheaper firms around but it was worth it to us to have such good care taken, to know the firm was reliable and we would not be left with substandard or uncompleted work. We had a quote approx. 5 weeks ago - have 3 bathrooms that need renovating, have phoned twice and they don't even bother calling back so obviously not in need of new work!! Very disappointing as appeared really professional when one of them came to our house. Would not even bother calling them as you will be wasting your time!! Seemed professional and been in the business a long time Zero service

Problems from start to finish. Supposed to take 3 weeks but took nearly 6 weeks due to incompetency and stuff ups by some of the tradesmen. Some very poor quality of work and no duty of care! They should concentrate less on QUANTITY of work (doing multiple renovations at one time) and more on QUALITY of work taking place because this causes a lack of customer service and unsatisfactory delays in finishing the job! Also, received no apology for the mistakes made by their workers. Totally regret choosing Fred Rose and would never recommend them to anyone! You're better off choosing a smaller renovation team and get more one-on-one service and more duty of care!

We used these people and I have long lived to regret it - they were more expensive than anyone else at the time. The first day one tradesman arrived on crutches, and when I expressed concern about how he could do the job he was rude beyond belief and continued to hobble around laughing. The tradesmen made errors over and over again. At one point, I expressed some dissatisfaction regarding one such mistake, and asked that the supervisor review it before another installment was made. The tradesman concerned went out into the street and screamed into a mobile that I had refused to pay the due installment. I have always felt that this was just one of their tactics. I just happened to stumble upon this site when looking for someone to renovate a bathroom. The other reviews are interesting and I will continue my search.

I opened the Fred Rose web site in order to set up another renovation. I was shocked at the negative comments there. Fred Rose replaced 2 bathrooms for me about 18ths ago. I could not fault one step of the process. David was a massive help design wise. Every tradesman used was totally professional and always open to questions if I had any. I often had to leave the house but did so in total confidence that they would finish and lock up for me. I would not choose any other company but Fred Rose to do another job for me.

We had both the bathroom and ensuite done by Fred Rose. Works completed in Dec 2015. We are very happy with the overall work done. Yes the costs were much more expensive but the works were done professionally and the products were of high quality. Yes, there were problems, but they were resolved to our utmost satisfaction. All the peoples we dealt with from both the Padstow and Fairfied offices are very friendly, professional and helpful. I have no hesitation to recommend Fred Rose to my friends.

We had 2 bathrooms and a laundry done by Fred Rose. When jobs were finished we had issues that needed to be fixed. It took a long time for them to come back. I would look into other options before committing to them.
