Highlights

We had a fantastic experience with Brie at National Tiles Oxley. She really knows her products inside out and gave us great guidance on our tile selection, including clear advice about stock and supply. When our builder unexpectedly went into liquidation, things could have become very difficult, but Brie stepped in and helped us source additional tiles without any fuss. Her support made a stressful situation much more manageable, and we’re incredibly grateful for her help. We can’t recommend Brie highly enough. She was super efficient, friendly, and very professional in all our dealings with her.

Purchased recently pavers from this company. My experience was overwhelming positive. Aftersales care and delivery need positive mention.

A man named Sam at the Doveton store turned an unfortunate exchange of faulty tiles into the most positive, seamless experience. The following day, the faulty tiles were collected and new tiles were delivered. Sam personally came to my house and stacked the faulty tiles to ensure they were appropriately stacked for collection. He was professional, friendly, helpful and efficient. Have never been so impressed with the level of customer service I received from Sam.

We to National tiles warners bay . I’ll save you the trip. Absolutely hopeless nothing on display that’s on there website. Couldn’t show any samples only keep grey or white . In the website shows tiles from from $25 sqm to $100 sqm but they only have expensive not like the radio ad claims .

National Tiles delivered visibly different and cheaper tiles, with a completely unrelated name on the boxes, and they are trying to pass it as the same tile. There is no accountability and no attempt to resolve the issue. They are ignoring every attempt to be contacted.

Be ware of false advertising in the stores. Having clearance signs on tiles that are actually not on clearance. And as you can not return tiles on clearance you are stuck with tiles that you didnt want. Also having VIC only specials in QLD stores that they can get for you, for extra fee. Scammers.

Somewhat dissappointed that they rename other brands so that you can't compare pricing with other retailers. Upon recieving my order, I can see the boxed product recieved is widely available from other retialers by as much as $15 a square. Surely this lack of tranparency is violation of the fair trade act? I was also informed I'd recieve a credit for the samples I purchased once an order was placed which didn't happen either

Very poor service, the store mucked up my order, and when I tried to rectify with the store, I never got a response. I contacted customer support, and they were slack at replying, but they promised to collect the wrong ones, but didn't. This is despite giving them 2 weeks in which … promised to " leave it with her". I decided to try and get the correct tiles to exchange for the wrong ones, since I waited so long for a solution. They said they were ready, my husband did 1.5 hour round trip to find the store closed 20 minutes early, so it cost us time and money for a store that closed well before the advertised time. Tried going again today, after emailing yesterday, but no email reply and store could not get them as there was no forklift to get them down. Asked for a refund, I wonder how long it will take to process. Ridiculous service on all accounts, no remedy and have now been there 4 times all over 1.5 hour round trip and have no tiles to show for it! Will definitely never waste my time going back.

Ordered tiles online and the money was taken out of our account immediately on the 10th March. Received an email on 12th March that tiles were no longer available at which time I requested a refund. Confirmation was received on the 13th March that credit department received my request and that my refund could take up to 10 business days, which was annoying as I felt they shouldn’t have taken the money until they were sure they had the stock, but I accepted. Rang on the 28th March to be told it is still a few days off and if I don’t get my refund by 1st April to ring them back and they will chase it up. When I asked why it has gone over the 10 days, I was told that the “manager” hadn’t okayed it until the 17th. Nothing to ok in my opinion as the refund wasn’t contributed to in any way by me.

To preface this, to date I have rarely read reviews about a business, preferring to give the people there a chance by default, unless there is a serious reason to do such a check. Then it is to get an idea of what kind of experience people who have complained, have had with that business. See if it aligns with what I observed. And even then depending on what the other complaints are I go in with an open mind as it is good be independent first and not be influenced by what other people say. Then I can make up my own mind. It also means that if I do find something wrong, I'm not messing about when I describe what it is. In this case, regarding the Mitcham store, I went in expecting to get served in a professional manner. But instead of this I got the opposite. There was something off with the staff member that tried to serve me. He took a everything that we discussed the wrong way and then started to make barely disguised snide remarks about the different ways the project could go wrong as if that was the goal of any customer that walked into the place. Overall I found him arrogant. And this is somebody whose job is to serve customers and make them feel like they are valued and will get good support if they decide to buy this store's products. Instead of wanting to shop there it puts you off dealing that business. An example of how to drive away customers.

We have renovated two properties over the last three years, and purchased all of our Tiles from National Tiles Port Melbourne. Service has always been excellent. We would like to in particular thank Ruby and Jason from the Port Melbourne store for their very personalised service, patience and attention to detail.

I went to National Tiles store Mile End to order tiles that I had already selected. The person I dealt with did the calculation for the square meterage I wanted, I selected the grout colour and he verbally told me the price and I accepted and the tiles were then ordered and paid for. When I collected the tiles the grout had been omitted and I had to drive back to the store only to find it wasn't in the quote he gave me when I ordered. I paid for the grout and left. When I got the tiles home I found that the person at the store had completely gotten the quantity wrong and I was short 1.5m out of a 2.7m order. I contacted the store and they said they would expedite the balance of the tiles, charged me the extra $$ which I paid there and then. 5 days later I call the store to find out that the tiles haven't even been picked yet let alone shipped. I'm not sure what their idea of expediting means!! I've now had to cancel the tiler a second time because of their incompetence! This is definitely the last time I ever use them. Beaumont's every time from now on!

Absolutely fantastic experience. Would not go anywhere else. I had problems with trying to choose from their amazing selection and Kurt went above and beyond and he is a huge asset to National Tiles Woolloongabba.

The customer service from the Woolloongabba store was great during the sale, but then the wrong tile was delivered. We checked the tiles before they were installed. I called at 12pm as the tiler started the next day at 7am. Several phone calls and emails later at 4.30pm, we still had no response or solution. The next morning we were told that there was not enough tile for our order (it was a clearance tile). We were offered “alternatives” (e.g., much bigger tiles, or an external tile) or different tiles at a higher cost. We had to cancel the tiler and take time off work to find a workable tile. The response from multiple managers was to shift the blame to us for not checking the delivery sooner (rather than focus on the fact that THEY delivered the wrong tile). Another several calls later, we got a refund. So my recommendation would be to assume that National Tiles can’t operate without customer supervision, and be ready to receive no practical help if there is an issue OR just buy tiles elsewhere and save yourself the stress. I would HIGHLY recommend The Tile Collective in Herston.

Trade and building licensing in Australia is set by each state or territory. Check the relevant regulator (e.g. NSW Fair Trading, QBCC in Queensland, VBA in Victoria) that the contractor holds a current licence for the work type and value before you hire.
For larger residential building work, confirm the contractor carries the home-building / domestic-building insurance your state requires before you pay a deposit. It is what protects you if the work is left unfinished or defective.
Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
