Stay away from this company, as they are unprofessional and follow unfair consumer practices. After signing the sales quote, they delayed scheduling the installation for several weeks without communication. When the installer finally attended site, he left without notice, sending a single text message claiming other trades were working in the yard. The company then issued a revised quote, demanding an additional $6,000 to complete the work originally agreed upon. We are currently going through Fair Trade QLD process to address this. Stay away and avoid at all costs.

We recently had a solar system and battery installed, and our experience with ZipSolar from start to finish, including the after-care has been nothing short of tremendous. It all started with Angel, who worked promptly with us to secure an installation spot at a very reasonable price. She delivered on everything she promised and made the entire process seamless from day one. Johnny from the installation coordination team then assisted in booking our installation smoothly, followed by Silva and his installation team, who walked us through every detail and had solutions ready for every challenge encountered on the day. From there, Andy and the customer service team ensured everything continued to run like clockwork. The whole process was simple, professional, and incredibly well organised thanks to the entire team. Thank you, ZipSolar, we highly recommend this team!

Zip Solar made the whole process simple. They kept me updated before installation, answered questions straight away, and were just easy to work with. The install team was great — friendly guys who clearly knew what they were doing. The system was set up properly, and they left everything tidy. Really happy with the result and the service overall.

I have waited 2 months after installation to post this review to give a genuine account of my dealings with zip solar also to give them plenty of time to send documents after installation. The good! System is working perfectly and has exceeded all expectations in regards to reducing my power bills. The initial price for the system was competitive. The wiring was done neatly. The system was installed on the agreed date. The bad. Only contact from zip solar after installation was a call(2 days after installation)asking me to click a link and leave a review. I have yet to receive any email or paperwork regarding system compliance. I have yet to receive any email or paperwork regarding system warranty. 4 days after installation while my son was on the roof replacing some tiles that where broken during the panel installation (which i was advised of during the installation)he noted the tile directly above the cabling going down to the inverter was left open, this explains why the roof was leaking into the eve above the inverter/battery installation. A concrete pad i had installed prior to installation day was only partially used due to the proximity to a gas line,I offered to move it but was told it would be ok! See attached photos to see what the installation team did. I was charged and extra 1400 dollars on the day for an extra 8 meters of cabling because my inverter and battery location where not within 5 meters of the meter box.

I had a great experience with ZipSolar. Mason was very knowledgeable and professional and was able to walk me through from initial discussions to down selecting Zip solar as the provider of choice. Without his help I wouldn’t have been able to select zip solar. The installation was done earlier than scheduled and it was super impressive how streamlined the process was. Roy was proactively managing the installation and it was very impressive of their customer service. The installation team also did an excellent job and left the site clean. It’s been two weeks since installation and so far everything is working perfectly fine. I would definitely recommend their service.

I am absolutely speechless at the shockingly horrible workmanship and customer service from Zipsolar. If you are considering using them, please read this first. I had my solar panels and Sigenergy battery installed by Zipsolar. Six months ago, the manufacturer issued an urgent safety recall notification for the inverter. As a precaution, my battery capacity was remotely slashed from 10kWh down to 7.8kWh. For half a year, I have been chasing Zipsolar to get a replacement date, losing significant electricity production and money in the process. They constantly stalled, ignored the urgency of a safety defect, and provided zero after-sales support. Finally, a third-party company (Solar Service Guys) was sent to my house today to replace the recalled inverter. Unbelievably, the installer took one look at my setup and flat-out REFUSED to do the work. The reason? Zipsolar’s original installation was completely non-compliant and unsafe. The inspector explicitly pointed out poor workmanship and non-compliances with the battery cables and circuit breakers. Because of Zipsolar, I am stuck with a system that is crippled, under a safety recall, and legally non-compliant. They take your money, sign off on illegal electrical work, and completely abandon you when it needs to be fixed. I have given them more than enough warnings. I am now reporting this unsafe installation to NSW Fair Trading, the Clean Energy Regulator, and the NETCC. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs.

I wrote a bad review about them before, and finally, after several hard dealings with the company, they put the solar panels on my roof. The job seems to have finished. What I found is that their first quotation (9998) may not be the final price you have to pay. This company is really very eager to do business, especially Mason, who did as much as he could to finish the job. The final price is not especially cheap, but the system seems to be working well so far. The installation job is neat and fast. Only one point is that there is no physical protective cover for the wires underneath the inverter, and the clients have to DIY. Anyway, except they were too busy to finish the job before the first of May, that makes me miss a certain amount of rebate, overall is good.

Terrible Terrible Terrible After reviewing the system design and the advice provided , it become clear that the information and service provided to us were inaccurate and misleading. They originally advised that a 10kW inverter was required for the installation. This advice was later changed to a 5kW inverter without proper explanation or technical justification. As a result, the system has been installed in a configuration that does not allow the solar panels to properly feed into the battery. The solar panels should have been connected directly to a correctly sized 10kW inverter to ensure proper system operation. Instead, the current setup has resulted in a system that does not perform as represented. In addition, I was contacted by another representative associated with your company who attempted to pressure me into paying an additional $2,000 to rectify issues that arose due to the incorrect advice originally provided. This conduct raises serious concerns under the Australian Consumer Law, including: • Section 60 – Failure to provide services with due care and skill. also they wrongly charged and accept money for a 10kw inverter and supplied a 5kw inverter. • Section 36 – Accepting payment for services that are materially different from what was represented or agreed. Given these issues, I would not recommend this company  Like  Share

Company Not Recommended. I would not recommend this company due to ongoing and repeated issues across multiple installations. As a returning customer, this experience has been extremely disappointing and significantly worse than my previous dealings. In hindsight, I should have withdrawn when the initial problems arose. 1. No in-house installers and poor workmanship The most significant issue is the lack of in-house installers. The company relies on third-party contractors who have proven to be unreliable and deliver substandard workmanship. Across two of my properties, installations were left incomplete and required multiple return visits, often weeks later and only after repeated follow-ups. In two instances, I discovered that the system was not operating correctly — an issue the company had failed to identify. Had I not investigated, this could have gone unnoticed for years. The issue was only addressed after I raised it. Yes. Two times. Additionally, I was required to complete parts of the setup myself, including creating accounts, performing resets, and configuring components, as the installers did not return to finish the job. This, again, occurred on two separate properties, indicating a consistent pattern rather than an isolated oversight. 2. Extremely slow follow-up times Delays in resolving issues extend beyond days or weeks — they take months. Even basic matters required numerous phone calls and persistent follow-up. In contrast, other providers used by my peers completed installations efficiently with minimal need for further contact. 3. Poor internal communication Communication within the company is highly disorganised. Each time I follow up on unresolved issues, I am told they will be investigated, but no updates are provided. Subsequent follow-ups require me to repeat the entire situation from the beginning. Some issues remain unresolved despite ongoing efforts. 4. Unexpected additional costs The initial quotes provided are not reliable. Shortly before installation, I was contacted and informed of additional costs that had not been identified earlier. This occurred on three separate occasions across three different properties, suggesting a recurring pattern rather than an isolated error. While the initial quotation appears competitive, additional charges are introduced closer to the installation date. Having reviewed recent feedback from other customers, it appears the company’s service quality has declined and is no longer consistent with my previous experience. This has been one of the most frustrating service experiences I have encountered. I strongly recommend considering alternative providers.

I approached this company on recommendation from our neighbors _ dealt with their sales person over a long period of time looking to get a quote for a specific sized system and battery. I kept getting upsold and told that the system I wanted wasn't big enough for me. I am an electrical engineering PhD so know how to analyses by power usage and what capacity system I need. I was given an indicative quote in a 1 line email for the system I wanted, when i went to move ahead 1 week later I was told the quote has expired and I had to order the larger system which I didnt need. I repeated that size of system I want and I have not heard back from ZIP
